Camping and S ‘mores.  Hamburgers and hotdogs.  Coffee and a good book.  What are your two favorite things that go together?  Well, the Activities Coordinators at Big Cedar have a new one for you…movies and swimming!  What makes “The Wizard of Oz” better than watching it under the night sky or seeing “Flilpper” while floating on a noodle in the pool? 

These are just a few of the eight movies you have an opportunity to view at two of our pools Memorial Day through Labor Day.  These family friendly films provide entertainment for everyone.  My family has watched many movies over the years but I remember well that there were times that we wished we knew of more movies we could all watch comfortably and enjoy together. Bring the kids for an evening of fun with friends while you enjoy the cabana and beautiful weather.  So come join us at the Swimmin’ Hole or Wilderness Falls every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 8:30pm.  And best of all…it’s a COMPLIMENTARY activity!

Day one of Dogwood Kids Kamp was a major success!  We enjoyed a beautiful day at our campsite, which we set up ourselves (pitched our own tent and everything!)  We enjoyed our fabulous lunch of hot dogs, roasted over the fire we built.  We learned fun facts about camping and about Dogwood Canyon.  We ended our lunch with some delicious smores and banana boats also roasted over the campfire.

After we cleaned up our campsite, we headed down to Glory Hole with a bucket of fish food.  Standing next to the waterfall, atop the balcony, we threw handfulls of food down to the anxious trout and watched them swarm the area gobbling it up!

After and adventurous day at Dogwood, we packed up the van and headed on home, but not without learning the Dogwood Kids Kamp Song!  We sang all the way back to Big Cedar Lodge!
